Maintaining conformance with site operators license conditions is often part of a sub-contract monitoring and service package provided to the waste management industry by specialist providers.
Contracts are tendered on a competitive basis and where framework agreements are used there is often a responsibility on the provider to reduce costs over the contract period.
Traditional methods of monitoring rely on site inspection visits coupled with onsite fixed monitoring equipment, providing local recording and alarms. For unmanned sites this can require costly investment in SCADA and data management systems.
e-RPM provides a low cost alternative by enabling management and monitoring technicians to remotely access real time conditions at a site. Instant alerts by SMS text in the event of non-conformance permit correct responses to be initiated.
Periodic adjustment to processes such as leachate treatment and pumping may also be made by SMS instruction, thereby removing the need for regular, costly visits.
Remote visual monitoring is also possible using e-RPM stills camera technology, with site images despatched by mms or email to nominated recipients.
